Dr. Rex Luttrell

Dr. Luttrell was born in El Dorado, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock he attended medical school at St. George’s University in Bay Shore, New York and Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, Kent England. Dr. Luttrell completed his Internal Medicine and General Surgery residencies at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee. Since entering practice in 1993, Dr. Luttrell has performed thousands of surgical procedures including nearly 1,000 Gastric Bypasses for obesity.

Dr. Luttrell is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, the Southern Medical Association, the Pulaski County Medical Society, the Arkansas Medical Society and the American College of Surgeons. He has won the Internal Medicine Award of Excellence, membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Society, and a Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
